I'm still here!

I can't believe it's been over a week since I last blogged! Things have been CRAZY around here! Between testing and end of the year stuff at school and getting ready for birthday parties, I have had zero time to blog! We started our ABC Countdown to Summer last Thursday and I'm hoping to blog about that soon and get my first freebie up. My little one is turning 3 (sad face) on Friday so I'm appliquéing him a Mickey Mouse birthday shirt as I blog. Then we have both boys' birthday party next week and I tend to go a little overboard on parties. Luckily I made it a little easier on myself this year and am just doing 1 party!
We did have some Earth Day fun this week! We read The Lorax and wrote about how we would help the Lorax. Then we did some marble paintings and I took pictures of the kids with their mustache. So cute!! (Thanks to Mel D for this idea!) I thought I had a finished picture on my phone but apparently not! I'll post one tomorrow! I hope everybody has a great week!

Get Acquainted Linky!

I just love linking up with Latoya at Flying Into First for her weekly Get Acquainted Linky!

This week's topic is the Skittles Game.
 Here is the code:
Red- Favorite Ice Cream Flavor
Orange- Favorite Memory from College
Yellow- Favorite Sports Team
Green- Favorite Fast Food Place
Purple- Wild Card(Tell anything about yourself)
My favorite ice cream flavor is Cookies and Cream!
Blue Bell Cookies and Cream to be exact!
I have way too many memories from college to even be able to pick just one! And even if I could, it would be so full of inside jokes, that you probably wouldn't even understand it!Let's just say that when you lived in a coed dorm for three years, there was never a dull moment!
Rose Towers at the University of Alabama
(before it was torn down last summer)
Well since I already mentioned that I went to the University of Alabama, you can probably guess what my favorite team is!
Roll Tide!!! My dad and I go to all the home football games together and I just love it!
My absolute favorite fast food restaurant is
Unfortunately, I'm really the only one in my family that likes it!
When I started selling Teachers Pay Teachers, I knew that blogging was part of that process. And I dreaded it! I have never really been much of a writer. I much preferred more hands-on, crafty stuff. Well since I have started joining various linky parties and really given blogging a try, I've discovered that I actually really enjoy it! I kept checking all day yesterday for Latoya to put up this linky and I was really looking forward to writing about whatever the topic was. I am also loving all of the new blogs that I have found through the linky parties! So many wonderful people who are so willing to share their amazing ideas! I am learning so much and can't wait to see what else the blogging world has in store for me!

Five for Friday- April 12th edition

This was the longest week ever! I don't know why because this whole year has seemed to fly by but this week just dragged on and on. Thankfully it is finally Friday and I am linking up again with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday!

1. Weather
This week started off with some AMAZING weather! I was so excited to break out the capri pants and flip flops. I despise my winter wardrobe so I was definitely ready for a change. We took advantage of the beautiful last weekend and went downtown to take some pictures of the boys and feed the ducks and fish.

Then yesterday the beautiful weather came to end end when we got this:
We got out of school an hour and half early and luckily the storm rolled through with just some minor damage. I HATE severe weather. Especially when I am home by myself with the boys. But the sun is out shining again today!
2. Aqua Zumba
My best friend and I have been wanting to try the new Aqua Zumba class at the YMCA for months now but just could never make it. We do go to the regular Zumba classes 3-4 times a week. Well this week we finally went and had a BLAST! I wish it was offered more than one night a week because it was just so much fun and a nice change. There are a couple of morning classes offered that I am looking forward to taking advantage of this summer.
DIBELS testing starts next week. My firsties have been working so hard and I really hope all their hard work (and mine!) pay off!
4. Mommy/Son Date
I promised my oldest that we would do something together over Spring Break but with little brother home too, it was kinda difficult. So I told him we would have a mommy/son date this weekend to go see:
5. New Centers!
In case you missed my What's New Wednesday, my new vowel sound in moon:oo centers are available in my Teachers Pay Teachers store!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

What's New Wednesday!

I wasn't quite sure I was going to be able to get anything new uploaded to my store this week but I got something up just in time for What's New Wednesday!

Here are my newest literacy centers:

Click on the picture to see it in my store!

These centers focus on the vowel sound in moon: oo phonics skill and go along with the story Henry and Mudge and Mrs. Hopper's House in the first grade Common Core Reading Street series but will be perfect even if you don't use this series. Have a great Wednesday!

Get Acquainted Linky!

I'm linking up again this week with Latoya over at Flying into First Grade for her weekly Get Acquainted Linky!

This week's topic:
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you have to have with you?
1. My family!

Can't go anywhere with out my favorite boys!!!
2. My iPhone
Considering my phone is permanently attached to me, it would be quite difficult to get stranded without it!
3. Diet Dr. Pepper
My family isn't going to want to go anywhere near me on that island if I don't have my diet Dr. Pepper!
Don't forget to go link up with Latoya! I love getting to know more about everybody!

Can I please take these two with me too???

Five for Friday!

I am so excited to be linking up for the first time with Kacey over at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly Five for Friday!

1. Blogging!
I feel like I am finally getting the hang of this blogging thing! It has taken awhile but the more I do it, the more I enjoy it! Joining up with the different linky parties has really helped and I have also discovered some amazing new blogs to follow!
2. Giveaway!
I am so excited to be a part of Molly's giveaway celebrating her 100 followers! Click on the picture to enter and have a chance to win a copy of my Math Races Addition!
3. Let's Party!
We are in full on party mode in our house now! I don't know why I feel like I have to go over the top with my boys birthday parties. I guess part of the reason is because my mom did it for us growing up. I am making things easier on myself this year and doing to joint party. The boys' birthdays are only a month apart so we are splitting the difference and doing a swimming party at the local YMCA indoor pool. All my parties have to have a theme and it was difficult to come up with something that would fit soon to be 6 and 3 year old boys. So we are going with a Pool Party!
I have always bought the printable party packs from sellers on etsy but I have decided this year to do it myself. Wish me luck!
4. Name-bows!
It was the first week of April and I still had snow globes hanging around my room. It was time to get something spring up! We made these Rainbow Name-bows by Reagan Tunstall.
The only thing I did was use some cloud clip art that I already had and put their names on it before I printed them out. My room looks so bright and colorful now! Now I need to replace our 100 year old portraits that we did in January that are still hanging in the hallway!
 5. Easter
 My precious boys on Easter!
Have a great weekend!!!

What's New Wednesday!

Three days of blogging in a row! Wow! I am going to try to highlight a new product from my Teachers Pay Teachers store every Wednesday. This week I added:

Click on the picture to see these centers in my store

This is the next group of centers in my series of literacy centers that go along with the skills we are learning in our Scott Foresman First Grade Reading Street series. They go along with the story Peter's Chair but will be perfect for any class learning about vowel digraphs ue, ui, ew. Just like all my other literacy centers, this group of centers includes Read the Room, ABC Order, Rhyme Time, Word Scramble, and Fill in the Blank. The goal of my weekly centers is to keep the format the same, which saves teachers time by not having to explain a whole new group of centers each week. All you have to do is print, laminate, cut, and stick it in the center. One day, I will do a blog post on how I organize centers in my classroom.

Join me next week to see what's new!

April Currently Linky Party

I came across this linky party at Oh' Boy 4th Grade and thought it looked like so much fun! Plus it is only once a month, so surely I can keep up with that, right??

So here is my April Currently:

Listening- As I mentioned in my favorites post, I love The Voice! I love how talented all the singers are and it just breaks my heart when somebody doesn't get picked. :( But don't worry! I am doing my fair share of looking at Blake and Adam too!

Loving- I am definitely not missing X-tina and her cups that runneth over! I think that Usher and Shakira add great chemistry to the show.

Thinking- Only 7 more Mondays before summer break! Spring Break went by entirely too fast and I was entirely too lazy the whole week. Go to the gym everyday? Ha! Work on things for my Teachers Pay Teachers store? Haha! I didn't even take my laptop out of my computer bag one time! But I did spend tons of QT with my boys and that's all that matters!

Wanting- To be at the beach RIGHT NOW! My boys are constantly asking me when we are going and I keep telling them not soon enough! We have big vacation plans that had to be moved to the end of the summer so hopefully we will be hitting the beach in early June!

Needing- I really should be at the gym right now instead of sitting on my couch. But watching The Voice and blogging seems like a much better choice! I could be watching The Voice while running on the treadmill but that just doesn't sound as fun.

Advice- Everything happens for a reason! I have told myself this too many times to count. We may not now exactly why at that very moment, but you will when the time is right!

Can't wait to link up for May Currently! Then I will only have 3 more Mondays until summer!

Linky Party- Favorites Survey!

I am linking up again with Latoya at Flying Into First Grade for her weekly Let's Get Acquainted Linky Party! I had awesome intentions of linking up last week but I was on Spring Break and was L.A.Z.Y! I didn't even take my laptop out of my bag the entire week! So much for all the plans I had to work on stuff for my Teachers Pay Teachers store! This week's theme is Favorites so here are all of mine!

Favorite Place to Shop

I am OBSESSED with dressing my boys in adorable clothing. Gymboree is the only place that I shop for clothes for them. I am also very picky about them coordinating when we go out somewhere. Both boys were born in the spring time so the clothes from my oldest would work perfectly for my youngest. Well, unfortunately, I still buy the little one clothes because of this desire for them to be coordinated!I have always said the I had boys because God knew I couldn't afford girls!
Favorite TV Show
I must confess that I am a reality TV junkie. If it comes on TLC, then I probably watch it! But my current favorite show is:

I am LOVING the new judges this season! And Adam and Blake aren't so bad to look at!
But the one show that I never miss an episode of is:
Favorite Sweet Treat
L.O.V.E ice cream! Cookies and Cream is my absolute fav!
Favorite Food

Pizza of course!
Favorite Restaurant

Favorite sit-down restaurant:
Favorite fast food restaurant:
I would eat there every night if I could!
Thanks for taking the time to come and check out my little ol' blog! Come back next week when I (hopefully!) link up again!
